A nursing home used mwtVision trending data to save money and avoid a potential emergency.
This old age home is on a low yield well that fills a reservoir during the night for times during the day that water demand exceeds the capacity of the well. One autumn pipe burst in the unvisited basement of the home, spilling thousands of litres of water into the ground. Staff quickly noticed that the reservoir level was falling much more quickly than normal. A search was made for the cause and the leak was found. Without mwtVision, staff would only have become aware of the problem when the water ran out and over a hundred elderly residents were left without water. (Not to mention what the spilled water would have done!)
The same old age home later used pump run trending data to discover a problem with the electrical power supply to a pump. Without mwtVision the problem would not have been noticed until the pump had burnt itself out. |
